Baby B | Northeast New Jersey Newborn Photographer

I was blessed to be able to spend the day with this precious baby girl…

She was so good for me!  I couldn’t resist sharing this one.  :-)

She’s the rootin’-est, tootin’-est cowgirl in the wild, wild west!

Okay, we aren’t actually in the wild, wild west… and she isn’t actually a cowgirl… but just look at those CHEEKS!!!
I absolutely adore this chubby baby girl! I am off to edit some more from this cutie’s session plus a newborn that I photographed recently!!  :-)

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge | Beautiful Eyes

These eyes are a photographer’s dream… Luckily, he is mine so I can photograph them any time I want (as long as I have a pocketful of change or a sweet treat to bribe him with)! ;)

When I saw this weeks challenge at I Heart Faces is beautiful eyes… I knew just who I needed to go to!

You can see more beautiful eyes at:   http://www.iheartfaces.com/2011/08/photo-challenge-beautiful-eyes/

Guess Who??

My boy cracks me up!!  This is what happens when someone with a whole lot of energy gets bored!

If that isn’t enough, check out hubby’s birds eye view video.  Too funny!!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgyPY8ZyJ-c

After a few runs around the fire pit he got the bright idea to jazz his box up a bit.  When Waltie saw what his big brother was doing he wanted to be included too.  Thankfully, Liam was in a sharing mood and there was plenty of box for both boys, so they got down to business.

I absolutely love to see their creative process… but what a mess they leave behind!

Valentine Day Cards

valentine's day cardValentine's day cardvalentine's day cardThe month of February is almost at a close and we thought that we would share some Valentine Day cards with you that we created here at Kim Koch Photography. These are shots of three of our kids that we made up for them to take to school and share with their classmates.  Only two of the kids wanted to bring them to school as the 11 year old decided that he was to old for this (they grow up way to fast, it’s kind of depressing). We also sent digital copies to our family and friends as well.  We hope you enjoy these as much as we enjoyed making them and hope everyone had a fun Valentines Day.

Mother and Son | Family Portrait Photography

Okay, so I am sure that you can see by the green leaves in these photos that I am a little behind on my blogging! I was lucky enough to photograph my beautiful friend and her handsome little man at the end of the summer. I am absolutely in love with this little guy who called me the “pretty lady with the camera”. So young and such a charmer already!

Little B. had quite the collection of toys and loved showing me his favorites.

Then we took a ride to one of our favorite locations and had fun looking for Bambi. :)

Honestly… look at that face…

Thank you so much Aggie and B for a wonderful day! I hope you enjoy your photos.

Senior Portrait Session | Danielle Continued…

I had such a great time with Danielle and we got so many shots… I can’t stop editing!!  Here are a few more.  I hope you enjoy!

Senior Portrait Session-Buckeye Style

I recently had the chance to shoot a senior portrait session with a beautiful senior from the buckeye state (Ohio). My good childhood friend came out to visit us from Ohio and brought her daughter to have her senior pictures taken.  It was so great to see my friend Lori and a real treat to take pictures or her gorgeous daughter Danielle.  Danielle was up for anything and a real joy to work with.  The following are just some of the images that Danielle and her Mom really liked.  Thanks again Lori and Danielle I had a great time and we need to do this again soon.

Absolutely LOVE this jacket!!  Isn’t it GORGEOUS?

Holiday Cards

Hello all, I thought I would make this quick post to remind everyone that the holiday season is going to be upon us before we know it.  This shot is one that we recently took of our good friends Ron and Lindsay and their handsome boys. Ron and Lindsay wanted a shot to put on their Christmas cards, we were honored to be asked to help them make and choose the perfect image.  I know that a lot of people are getting ready during this time of year to have their holiday cards made and wanted to share some thoughts with you that hopefully help make this task easier and more enjoyable.

  • Outfits- choose carefully and make sure that they complement your family and the surroundings the photo will be taken in. Some things to keep in mind, no bright colors and no clothes that are too tight or too loose. Earth tones are always a good choice. If your not sure be sure to check with your photographer who should be able to help you with this.
  • Children- be sure to choose a time that is best if there are small children in the family that will be in the picture. Too close to nap time is never good. Think of a time of day that they are generally the happiest. Also leave time to let them get comfortable with your photographer if they haven’t met him/her before or if its been a while since they have seen him/her.
  • Location- This is a personal decision that you and your family need to decide on with your photographer. Will it be your beautiful home? A nice park like the one in the image above? Or maybe a studio shot with a traditional background?

These are just some of the things that should be considered when deciding on your holiday cards. We like to think that if you choose a reputable professional photographer that they should be able to help you with all of these decisions and others that you may not even have thought of.  Will you be able to get everything you want at a chain portrait studio? Maybe, but many of the items listed above that contribute to a successful holiday portrait or any portrait might not be possible at one of the chain studios. (picking the time for your portrait, personal clothing consultation, extra time in the schedule for your children to get comfortable with the whole process)You decide. As always we would love to perform this service for you or your family here at Kim Koch Photography but even if you choose another option for your holiday cards please feel free to contact us with any questions that we may be able to help you out with.
